The term sheet arrived the next week. The money was enough for two years. But the terms were heavy. The investors wanted forty percent of the company — and a seat on the board.
„This is standard,” the lawyer said.
„But it’s not nothing,” Alex’s co-founder, Maya, said. „Forty percent means it’s not really our company anymore. What are we building this for — to own it, or to sell it?”
Alex looked at the paper. The signatures were waiting at the bottom.
