A customer needed a receipt from the previous week, so Priya went to the small filing desk. The top drawer opened easily, but the second one would not move. She pulled the handle harder and heard paper moving inside. Something was stopping it.
Her colleague Al offered to help. Before touching the desk, he asked which receipt she needed. Priya knew the date and amount. Al reminded her that they also kept digital copies. She found the correct receipt on the computer and printed it for the customer.
With the customer gone, they could examine the drawer without rushing. Their manager removed it carefully and found a thick envelope caught at the back. Someone had placed too many documents inside, and the envelope had slipped over the edge.
Priya sorted the papers into two thinner folders. Old records went into a separate cupboard, following the office rules. When she closed the drawer, it moved smoothly. Al wrote a small label for the front: 'Current month only.'
