Radu and his aunt chose a walking route through the low hills near their town. The leaflet showed a tea room at the end. Radu packed water and apples, but his aunt was already talking about hot tea and cake.
They followed yellow signs past a field and across a wooden bridge. At the final gate, they found the tea room. Its windows were dark. A note on the door said that it only opened on Sundays during winter.
It was Saturday. Radu read the leaflet again and found the winter times in small letters at the bottom. His aunt laughed. Then she opened her bag and took out a flask. She always carried tea on long walks.
They sat on a public bench and shared their apples and warm drinks. There was no cake, but they could see the whole valley. Before going home, they agreed to return on a Sunday. Next time, Radu would read the whole leaflet first.
