The community workshop had two adult classes on Wednesdays. A furniture repair group finished at four, and a sewing group began at four thirty. Both teachers used the same set of keys. Usually, they met at the door between the classes.
One Wednesday, the sewing teacher, Nina, knew she would arrive late because of another work meeting. She called the repair teacher, Cole, before lunch. Cole could not wait because he had an appointment at five. Leaving the keys under a mat was not allowed.
They contacted the centre office and agreed that Cole would return the keys there. Nina could collect them when she arrived. She also sent her students a message explaining that the sewing class would start ten minutes late and finish ten minutes later.
At four forty, Nina opened the workshop with the keys from the office. Her students were ready outside with their sewing bags. Before beginning, she wrote the office's key collection procedure inside her teaching notebook. Next time, the two teachers would not need to solve the same problem again.
