The team at a print shop had to watch a short training video about a new order system. Before the session, Sophie tested the computer and screen. The picture worked well, but the speakers made no sound. The usual technician was away.
Sophie found a button for captions below the video. She turned them on and watched the first minute. The words matched the actions on screen, but some appeared too quickly for her to read. She decided to pause after each short section.
When the team arrived, she explained the problem. They watched a section, read the captions and tried the same step on their own computers. The training took ten minutes longer than planned, but everyone completed a sample order before returning to work.
Afterwards, two colleagues asked Sophie to keep the pauses for future sessions, even when the sound worked. They liked having time to practise. She sent a repair request for the speakers and added the new pace to her notes for the next training day.
