The visitor leaflet showed a wide waterfall falling over dark rocks. Hugo chose it as the destination for a short day trip with his sister. They took the village bus and followed a marked path from the last stop to the woods.
When they reached the viewing platform, the waterfall was only a thin line of water. Hugo compared it with the picture and wondered if they were in the wrong place. His sister checked the name on the sign beside the path.
It was the right waterfall. A note explained that the picture was taken after several wet days in spring. Now it was late summer, and the area had been dry for weeks. They stayed on the platform and looked more closely.
Below them, the small stream passed between bright green plants. Hugo photographed the whole view instead of copying the leaflet's picture. On the bus home, he compared the two images again. He wanted to return in spring, but he was glad to have seen the quieter summer version too.
