Ben looked at the screen. There was no warning about paper or ink. He asked Iris which printer she had chosen. She pointed to a name on her computer. Ben smiled. That machine was in the office downstairs, not beside the window.
They walked downstairs together. Twenty-four price lists waited in a neat pile. Iris felt silly, but Ben showed her his own old mistake: a note above the machine said, 'Check the name before you print.'
Back upstairs, Iris changed her printer setting. She used twelve copies for the meeting and kept the others for next week. Then she added a small label to each machine so the next new worker could find the right one.
