The residents of Willow House received an online invitation to a shared lunch. Most replied within a day, but Mrs Webb from the top floor said nothing. The organizer, Hana, wondered if she simply preferred not to join her neighbors.
When they met beside the lift, Hana mentioned the lunch without asking for a reason. Mrs Webb looked puzzled. She had a phone, but she did not use the building's online group. Nobody had realized that she had never received the invitation.
Hana wrote the time and place on a card and put it through her door. The next morning, she found a handwritten reply under her own door. Mrs Webb would come and wanted to know if anyone needed extra serving spoons.
At the lunch, Mrs Webb's spoons were very useful. Afterward, Hana put future invitations on the noticeboard as well as online. Mrs Webb still preferred replying on paper. Her short notes became a familiar sight beside the organizer's front door.
