On Tuesday, she asked her manager if she could use the empty training room for one hour each afternoon. The manager checked the room calendar. It was free on most days, but not on Wednesdays, when new staff had lessons there.
Noor made a clear plan. She would work in the training room on four afternoons and write Wednesday's report before lunch. She put her location on the team calendar so colleagues could find her when they needed help.
The first quiet hour felt unusually long. Noor finished her report and checked it carefully before returning to her desk. A colleague asked if she was avoiding everyone. 'Not at all,' she said. 'Now I can enjoy our afternoon break without thinking about unfinished work.'
