Eric makes an omelette for his daughter, Ava. She likes eggs, but she does not like onions. Eric likes plenty of onions in his own food. He holds one large pan.
He can make one big omelette without onions. But there is another choice. He takes a smaller pan and puts half the eggs into it. Ava watches from the table.
Her omelette cooks first. Eric puts it on a warm plate. Then he adds onions to the other half of the eggs and makes his own omelette.
They sit together with their different breakfasts. Ava offers him some tomato from her plate. Eric gives her a piece of bread. They can share breakfast without eating exactly the same food.
