The new evening route ended at the north gate of the park, close to the bus stop. Dani had checked the map carefully, but he had not checked the opening hours. When the six runners reached the gate, it was locked. Their bus would arrive in twelve minutes.
Nobody suggested climbing the fence. Instead, they studied a notice attached to the gate. The south exit stayed open later, although it was on the opposite side of the park. Dani felt embarrassed. He had promised everyone an easy trip home, and now some would miss their usual bus.
The group walked towards the south exit while Ana checked the transport timetable. A different bus stopped outside that gate and connected with their usual route. It was slower, but it would get everybody home. Dani apologised again. Ana asked him to save his energy for updating the club's route description.
On the bus, they added the gate times and both stops to the shared map. They also removed the word perfect from the route title. The next week, another member thanked them for the details because she needed to leave early. Dani still chose routes, but now he checked more than distance and scenery before inviting anyone along.
