Since their wedding, Freya and Adam had eaten Sunday lunch with Adam's parents every week. Freya liked the visits, but she also missed long meals with her own sister. Her sister lived nearby and usually spent Sundays at home alone.

For their first Sunday at home after that, Freya and Adam made sandwiches instead of a large meal. They sat on the floor and planned nothing else. A free Sunday felt unusual, but neither of them wanted to fill it immediately.
