The guide at the castle gate told the visitors to meet at a quarter past two. Bruno heard the word 'quarter' and wrote two forty-five in his notebook. He planned to explore the outside walls before joining the guided tour inside.
At two ten, he bought a cold drink from the small kiosk. The assistant noticed his tour sticker and asked why he was walking away from the entrance. Bruno showed her the time in his notebook. She pointed at the clock above the counter.
'A quarter past two means two fifteen,' she explained. 'Two forty-five is a quarter to three.' Bruno thanked her and corrected his note. He still had a few minutes to finish his drink and return to the meeting point near the gate.
The tour began on time, and Bruno was there. Inside, the guide showed the group a dining hall and a room above the entrance. After the visit, Bruno wrote both time phrases beside their numbers. Next time he heard one, he would check before planning another walk.
