Mina and Joel were changing the window display at their bookshop. Joel placed books on low stands while Mina hung paper stars above them. The final star was too high for her to reach. She pulled a chair across the floor and started to climb.
Joel stopped her. The chair had wheels, and it moved when she touched it. Their short ladder was in the store room, behind several delivery boxes. Mina sighed because she wanted to finish before the first customers arrived.
They moved the boxes together and brought out the ladder. It only took two minutes. Mina hung the star while Joel stood nearby. Then they looked at the finished display from outside. The high star was almost hidden behind the shop sign.
Mina climbed the ladder once more and moved it lower. Now it could be seen clearly from the street. Before putting the ladder away, they made a proper space for it near the store room door, where the next person could reach it easily.
