A chalk sign stands outside the flower shop. It says that small bunches cost five pounds. Victor wants one for the outdoor table at his walking club's meeting place.
He goes inside and points to a large bunch of white flowers. The seller tells him the price is twelve pounds. Victor looks surprised and shows her the sign outside.
The seller explains that the small bunches are in a bucket by the door. Victor looks there and sees yellow, purple and pink flowers. Each bunch has a little paper label.
He chooses the purple flowers for five pounds. At the club's table, he puts them in a jar of water. They are small, but everyone can see their bright color.
