Sofia had lived near the coast for a month, but she had not visited the small town beach. On her first free morning, she took a bus there. The driver told her to get off at the stop called Beach Road.
From the bus shelter, Sofia could see houses and a garage, but no sea. She checked the map on her phone. The beach looked close, although she could not see a road leading to it. She felt a little confused.
A man walking his dog pointed to a narrow public path between two walls. 'The steps are at the end,' he said. Sofia thanked him and followed the path. Soon she heard water and saw a line of blue beach huts.
She stayed beside the sea until lunchtime. On her way back, she noticed a small beach sign behind a branch near the bus shelter. She moved the branch gently to read it. Next weekend, she could bring a friend and find the path without help.
