Sofia leaves the market with a bag in each hand. Her bus stop is on the other side of the road. Cars move past, and she cannot see a safe space.
A pedestrian crossing is a short walk to her right. Sofia goes there instead of crossing beside the market gate. She puts one bag down so she can press the button.
The light for people is red. Sofia waits behind the edge of the pavement. A cyclist stops beside her and gets off his bicycle. Then the light turns green.
They cross together while the cars wait. Sofia reaches her bus stop and checks the time. Her bus is still a few minutes away. She rests her bags on the ground again.
