The news broke slowly, then all at once. A signal, possibly artificial, possibly from beyond. The world reacted in ways Lena hadn’t predicted — fear, hope, denial, greed. Governments called. Journalists camped outside the observatory.
„Is it them?” everyone asked. Lena gave the only honest answer she had: „We don’t know what it is. We only know what it isn’t.”
