Tuesday Runs Without a Group Photograph

Every Tuesday, Karim led a small running group around the park. After each run, he posted a group photograph on the club's public page. He enjoyed showing new members that the group welcomed ordinary people, not only fast runners. Until recently, nobody had mentioned a problem.

One evening, a new member called June moved away when Karim raised his phone. Later, she quietly asked him not to include her in photographs. She did not explain why. Karim almost asked for a reason, then stopped himself. Perhaps joining a running group should not require sharing your private life.

At the next meeting, he announced a different arrangement. People who wanted a photograph could gather by the gate after the run. Anyone else could leave or continue talking nearby. He also removed an earlier picture after June told him that she appeared in the background beside a tree.

Only half the group stood by the gate that evening, but nobody seemed disappointed. Karim used a picture of their muddy shoes for the main post instead. A reader commented that the shoes looked very familiar. June returned the following Tuesday and brought a friend. This time, Karim put his phone away until the running was finished.
