There are cloth shopping bags behind every door in Mark's flat. Some are in the kitchen, and others are in the bedroom. Still, he often leaves home without one.
Mark puts all the bags on his bed. There are eight. He folds seven into small squares. The eighth bag is large enough to hold all the others.
He hangs the full bag beside his coat. Then he puts one folded bag in each coat pocket. His winter coat gets a bag, and his light jacket gets one too.
The next morning, Mark reaches into his jacket for his keys. His fingers touch the folded bag. He does not need it yet, but it is ready for his next shopping trip.
