Several classmates were already taking photos of their certificates. Paula felt awkward about asking for a change during the celebration. Still, she needed the document for her work file. She waited until the teacher finished speaking and quietly showed him the mistake.
He checked the class list and found the same error there. Paula had typed her surname incorrectly when she registered online. The teacher explained how to request a corrected copy from the office. She sent the request that evening with the correct spelling.
Two days later, a new certificate arrived by email. Paula checked it carefully before printing it. Then she showed her manager both her certificate and a sample of her course work. The spelling was right, and the work showed what she had learnt.
